Built by a Versant specialist

Kōjō Communication Academy makes practice material for people who need a specific Versant score for a specific job. If you have a test date coming up, this is what the site is for.

I'm Grant Prentice. I've been teaching English for over 25 years, and for the last eight of those I've worked specifically with the Versant test: preparing candidates for it, building courses around it, and studying how it scores.

That eight years is the reason this site exists. Most Versant practice you'll find online was written by people who have never looked closely at the test. Some of it still describes the old 20 to 80 scale, which was discontinued at the end of 2025. Our practice material is written and reviewed by a small team of English teaching specialists, and I lead that work myself.

I also coach one-to-one over Zoom.

How close is it to the real thing?

The app covers Parts A through F in the same order and the same formats as the test, at the same pace. Over 1,500 questions, updated monthly.

The audio matters more than people expect. Versant plays you real native-speaker speech, and a lot of practice apps use flat text-to-speech that sounds nothing like it. If you practise against robotic audio, the real test sounds faster and harder than what you trained on. Ours is generated with ElevenLabs voices. Here is a Part D passage. Play it and judge for yourself.

What people say

The best part, in my opinion, is the quality of the recordings. In sentence repetition and conversation practice, you actually hear real human voices, not robotic or computer-generated audio. This makes a big difference. It trains your ears to understand natural native speech, which is extremely helpful for real interviews and actual job situations. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the platform. It's practical, affordable, and focused on real improvement.
